Paws and Puddles: How Bunty, Babli, Mini and Prince Goldie Enjoy the Mumbai Rains

When the monsoon clouds usher in and the city smells like wet earth, and you can begin to smell the chai, most people think of umbrellas and traffic. However, for our four felines, Bunty, Babli, Mini and Prince Goldie, the rains mean an entirely different thing. It means warm naps, window gazing and dramatic meows that rival the thunder.

Morning Drizzles and Tail Wags

The day usually starts with the soft pattering of rain against the window. While the city is busy snoozing, our four pawsome stars – Bunty, Babli, Mini and Prince Goldie have their tails wagging and paws ready; although Prince Goldie, the more relaxed one, prefers to sit in his favourite corner until he gets too tempted by the smell of rain to get up.

Morning Drizzles and Curious Whiskers:

When the first raindrops hit the windowsill, four pairs of eyes flicker open.

Bunty – the explorer rushes to the balcony to watch the rain fall, while Babli and Mini prefer a more elegant observation perched on the windowsill, tails perfectly curled around their paws. Prince Goldie – the royal one simply blinks from his favourite chair as if he were saying, “Oh, rain again? Summon my breakfast first.”

Together, all four of them spend their morning watching raindrops race down the glass – the feline version of Netflix and Chill.

Rainy Days Naps: The Art of Doing Nothing

Once the rain starts to pour down, it’s nap time. Bunty finds a spot near the window to soak in the cool breeze, while Babli and Mini stretch in impossible shapes on a soft blanket; Prince Goldie claims the cosiest cushion in the house (and of course refuses to share it with anyone)

The sound of the rain becomes their lullaby, and between tiny purrs and long yawns, the four cats remind us that the best way to enjoy the rain is to just SLEEP THROUGH IT.

Cosy Playtime Indoors

Not every monsoon moment is laziness. There are times when the cats are full of energy and utilise their time indoors as monsoon maniacs – chasing toy mice, pouncing at invisible raindrops and rolling over rugs.

A few cardboard boxes (because cats love boxes more than toys), a feather wand and of course some treat time magic keeps them entertained even when the world outside is drenched.

Cuddles, Chai and Comfort Food

When their humans are busy sipping on their chai and munching on pakoras, Bunty, Babli, Mini and Prince Goldie have their own cosy rituals.  They curl up and share a blanket while watching the world outside drip in silver.

Prince Goldie (very often) demands treats (with a royal glare meaning “Now, Human’) and Bunty and Babli and Mini engage in synchronised grooming sessions. This is of course, domestic bliss with a side of meow.

Mumbai Monsoon Memories

By the end of the season, the entire house is full of soft furr, sleepy purrs and countless cosy memories. The rain outside may be causing chaos on the streets, but inside the house, its pure calm – four cats, one monsoon and a whole lot of love.

So, if you ever find yourself grumbling about another grey Monsoon Day, take a cue from our feline friends _ Bunty, Babli, Mini and Prince Goldie

  1. Interesting thought about mumbai rains if one has the option of being indoors and not encountering potholes
